Vintage Children’s Story

A cosy vintage children’s story.

The setting of this story was in-fact also the inspiration behind it. We meet an ordinary family living in an old Victorian flat/apartment in a small but busy town in the 21st century. The tale takes you on a somewhat nostalgic, English, vintage journey where Miss P.B. as she is affectionately known adds a sparkling of magic.

The family in the story is making the best of their lives in the town but is struggling and would rather be back in the English countryside where they had originally come from.

Miss P.B. arrives one morning dressed like a Victorian lady giving the family quite a surprise and as the narrative proceeds, there are many more surprises in store for the family from No 8 Victoria Avenue.

A real cat that languished in the warm sunshine outside a lovely Victorian home was the inspiration for the character of Miss P.B. and the story began, taking the family magically along with it.

The story is fictitious but the outcome for the writer of the story was a magical one too. Can real-life and imagined life merge? I think so, life can be full of lovely surprises this story is fun with a gentle rhythm, and a message that good things can happen if you believe they can.

A perfect children’s story for children from 4-8 with short chapters that make this a very suitable children’s bedtime story.

A story for older children to read alone and all the family to share and enjoy no matter what the age, perhaps by a cosy fire at Christmas.
